The key to lose weight is “NUTRITION”.
Working out for hours or eating low calories isn't the right way to lose fat from your body permanently.
Many of us keep this idea in our minds that weight loss or weight gain is a game about calories in / out.
If someone tells you this way, you need to look into that my friend because truth is that counting calories doesn't helps but counting the quality and nutrients in those calories does.
You get fat because of the fat stimulating hormone “insulin” which gets triggered in response to the raised blood sugar level in your bloodstream.
The more your body needs to produce insulin, the more you are prone to accumulate fat and gain weight. So, basically you have to cut on carbs & sugars as they are responsible for spiking insulin and eat a lot of good fats & protein which don't spike your insulin and therefore leads to weight loss.
So, next time before counting calories, look for nutrients as your body metabolizes different calories in different ways. You don't have to worry about portion controls if your meal already provides all the nutrients to your body. Because if your meal lacks nutrients, then no matter how much you eat, your body will always feel hunger as it requires to fulfill all the nutrients required by it and that ultimately leads to binge eating or eating wrong food which leads to weight gain.
Once you correct your nutrition, then you can look into your lifestyle and workout routine as having a proper lifestyle and sweating it out for 4–5 times a week can actually contribute in weight loss when accompanied with proper nutrition.
This is how I lost around 20 kgs within a span of 1 year.
